Richard, Denise and Rich, their chef, have combined traditional country pub food with the flair and imagination that is expected by today's discerning diner.
The Silent Woman Inn is a tenancy with Local Brewers Hall and Woodhouse.

Here you will discover the delights of Badger First Call, Tanglefoot and maybe even the strangely named Fursty Ferret! With the addition of Premium brands of Lager, Stowford Press Cider and Guinness, there is something for everyone. The wine list is varied introducing new varieties of old favourites. Most of the wines are available by the glass; a choice of three sizes offered.

Whether you require a three course meal or just a snack you are sure to find something to tempt you.

A note on Food Hygiene.

The Silent Woman Inn is a 5 Star Award winner in The Purbeck District Council Food Safety Awards.

Summer 2017 we were joined by our new chef, Richard. Having worked in some of the country's finest hotels, as well as in the South of France, Richard has settled now in Dorset, bringing his expertise with him. Later this year we will be launching our new menu with many of his new and exciting dishes, alongside the more traditional.

All of our dishes are cooked to order using raw ingredients, thus most special diets can be catered for. People with dietary needs can be safe in the knowledge that Rich and Denise can inform you of exactly what each dish contains and, in many cases, can substitute ingredients to make the dish suitable e.g. gluten free gravy.

We even have our own chickens laying free range eggs which are collected daily by Denise!! Look over the fence and you will see them staring back at you along with Ruud and Rio, our resident lawn mowers(also known as Sheep).

Sunday lunch time sees the appearance of a plated roast dinner just like Mum would make!

For those with a sweet tooth we offer a range of home made desserts including jam sponge with custard, fruit crumbles, sticky toffee pudding, profiteroles, banoffee Pie etc.

Except for the madly busy days of the Summer, the dining tables are laid, for our booked diners, with linen napkins and crystal glasses. Low burning candles, in the winter months, add to the ambience. Your orders will be taken at table by our attentive staff.

We are proud to retain our 5 rating from Purbeck District Council for our Food Hygiene Standards.
